A recent Las Vegas incident demonstrates the dangerous aspects of a hit-and-run collision. Fox News reports that last week, 59-year-old Dusan Stupar tried fleeing the scene of a collision while he was drunk in Las Vegas. The man tried to make his getaway by foot and crossed West Flamingo Road in an unmarked intersection. Mr. Stupar was then hit in the middle of the road by a truck being driven by 37-year-old Michael Hall, according to Fox News. The pedestrian (who allegedly committed the hit-and-run accident prior to getting hit by the truck) was then transported to UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
While both the collisions remain under investigation, an accident like this shows that there could be unsafe conditions when leaving a crash in addition to legal penalties. DUI Attorney reports that accident investigation crews are still attempting to piece together both the hit-and-run incident along with the pedestrian collision so that they can determine what charges need to be brought.
