Lee's Cream Liqueur Ice Cream Parlor Sells Alcoholic Ice Cream

Don't eat ice cream and drive.

These are some words that you're probably not used to hearing, as ice cream doesn't usually cause impairment. However, an ice cream parlor in Old Town Scottsdale has found a way to make the dessert a 21 and older treat.

Lee's Cream Liqueur Ice Cream Parlor on Stetson Drive features ice cream flavors made with alcoholic liqueurs, reports Fox News. Owner Lee Turner said that there's enough alcohol in each ice cream scoop to get you "feeling good" and that his idea of the alcoholic ice cream creation came when he started pouring alcohol on top of ice cream at parties.

Lee’s Cream Liqueur Ice Cream Parlor sells ice cream containing liqueurs like coconut rum, mango-flavored vodka and hand-made kahlua and limoncello. Customers must present their ID when purchasing their ice cream at this parlor and perhaps it’s best that customers also find a designated driver when traveling by car to this destination.

According to The Arizona Republic, Lee’s ice cream contains 5 percent alcohol. This is equivalent to the amount of alcohol in an average beer. So if a person consumes enough alcoholic ice cream, he or she can test over the legal limit of a .08 percent blood-alcohol level and be arrested for DUI.

If you’re arrested for DUI in Arizona, just hope that you’re not within the city limits of Scottsdale. As we’ve reported in earlier blog posts, DUI attorneys say that Scottsdale is the toughest city in the state when it comes to DUI penalties and DUI enforcement.
